G. Argy Rousseau Scarabs Vase
Measurements: 18 cm tall
Information: Art glass was sold for a profit. Things need to be in demand in order to sell. It is no surprise that during the Egyptian Revival period of the 1920s that G. Argy-Rousseau found it convenient to be inspired by that style and include some scarabs on a vase. This particular vase would be very uninteresting was it not for the lovely carved and colored beetle. This vase was first sold starting in 1923.
Your vase could have a similar design to the vase pictured but different colors. There could also be minimal style differences. While vases of the same catalog number should be very similar, no piece is going to be exactly the same as another.
